Christy Moore fans sing along to the Tuam Beat

ICONIC singer-songwriter Christy Moore has been entertaining audiences with his own twist on a Tuam song and it could feature on his new album.
Crowds at Christy’s concerts in England and Ireland in recent months have given their cheers of approval to his interpretation of Tuam songwriter Padraig Stevens’ song The Tuam Beat.
Apparently the live performance legend first heard the song from another Galway man – Jimmy Higgins Jnr, who is a percussionist with Christy Moore. Jimmy is the son of Tuam-native Jimmy Higgins of showband fame.
Songwriter Padraig told The Tuam Herald that he was “quietly delighted” and very impressed with Christy’s approach to his song.
