Turloughmore swimmer going for gold in la games

THE TRICOLOUR is flying high in Turloughmore this week as local woman Lorraine Hession bids for glory at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in California.
The 28-year-old has already won a fourth place ribbon in the 100m freestyle competition on Monday evening in Los Angeles, where she is representing Team Ireland in the aquatics event.
Following her race, Lorraine waved to supporters in the Uytengsu Aquatics Center with the strong Irish contingent including her brothers Joe and Paul, along with her brother-in-law Rob Flanagan who arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday.
