Residents lock down against water meters being installed

A CALL has been made for the Director of Operations of Irish Water to come to Tuam to oversee the installation of water meters in many of the town’s estates.
Complaints continue to be made to Irish Water and the Health and Safety Authority by residents and local councillors regarding aspects of the meter installation works which began two weeks ago.
Some of those living in the Lissadyra estate have erected 'No Tresspassers’ posters outside their homes as well as notices alerting workmen that they do not want meters installed at their property.
