Leds have imprisoned a tuam woman in her own home

A YOUNG Tuam woman, whose sensitivity to LED lighting is so extreme she is forced to move out of town over the coming months, is calling for a repeal of the ban on incandescent bulbs to help her lead a normal life.
Elaine Dennehy, daughter of the late Denis and Lena, has been suffering from severe migraine and vomiting for the past eight years as a result of direct exposure to LED backlighting in common household appliances such as lighting, computers, televisions and mobile phones.
While she has limited her exposure to LED lights at home by stock piling incandescent bulbs, the installation of street lighting in front of her home at Cricket Court along the Dunmore Road, has made her a prisoner in her own home after dark.
