Boy racers targeted by tuam gardai

Boy racers who left a trail of rubber doughnuts on the main Tuam-Ballinrobe road, near Castlegrove, at the weekend are being targeted by Tuam Gardai who are also asking for the public’s assistance in this incident and regarding other boy racing activities in the area.
A Garda source says those involved if apprehended will be severely dealt with and even before appearing in court their vehicles can be seized and held for a time while they are examined for modifications. “Some of the boy racers are fitting old badly worn tyres to their vehicles and then driving at high speed to get their kicks of burning off the rubber and doing the doughnuts with no regard for the dangers to themselves or to other road users,” said the Tuam Garda source.
