Tuam lady’s memory lives on with room dedication at London hospice

A TUAM lady has been honoured posthumously at England’s oldest hospice where a room has been formally named after her.
Phyllis Craig (née Heneghan) or Phyl as she was fondly known to family and friends, left her home in Forty Acres in 1965 for a career in nursing in London.
She passed away from ovarian cancer in 2012 and since her death her family have raised over £20,000 for the Trinity Hospice in Clapham, where she was cared for in the final months of her life.
A past pupil of Presentation Convent, Phyl worked in the Altar Bread Rooms before deciding to emigrate to London where she met and married a Donegal man, Seamus Craig, with whom she had two children.
