Best front garden awards a blooming success for tuam tidy towns

HIGH praise has been bestowed on the winners of Tuam’s inaugural Best Front Garden Competition who received their prizes at a special function in the town last week.
Tuam Tidy Towns invited the public to submit their gardens and had a total of 26 entries to choose from. A shortlist of five were chosen for the awards ceremony with the top three winners receiving vouchers for a local garden centre.
Top gardener Bernadette Jennings on the Ballygaddy Road was praised for her use of colour on the elevated site that offers a colourful distraction for passing motorists and pedestrians alike.
Bernadette, who credits the garden as a family project, said she was delighted to receive first place but hadn’t expected to win, when first approached to enter the competition.
