Camogie: Galway undone

THE curtain came down on Galway’s 2018 season on Saturday as the senior camogie team fell at the penultimate hurdle of the All-Ireland Championship for a third consecutive year.
This defeat wasn’t without heart, fight and determination from the maroon and white but when the final whistle blew, it was heartache again for Cathal Murray’s charges as they came up just short.
A late Rebecca Hennelly penalty on 64 minutes gave them hope after Kilkenny put the boot down in the final quarter. But in a sloppy contest where both sides shared moments of brilliance along with needless unforced errors, the realisation that this was a winnable game will haunt the Tribeswomen.
