More patrols needed to thwart Christmas gatherings
INCREASED Garda patrols in towns and villages throughout Co Galway would help deter people congregating in the run up to Christmas, according to a member of the Joint Policing Committee.
Cllr Joe Byrne made the call at a virtual meeting of the County Galway JPC this week, where he said the lifting of Covid 19 restrictions meant everyone had to play their part in reducing the spread of the virus.
