Spate of accidents leads to call for pedestrian crossing near Lidl store

A SPATE of traffic accidents near two Tuam housing estates has led to calls for a pedestrian crossing to be installed on one of the main arteries into the town.
Cllr Donagh Killilea told this week’s meeting of Tuam MDC that concerned residents of the Woodfield and Bealach na Gaoithe estates on the old N17 Galway Road had contacted him about incidents where pedestrians had been involved in near misses with cars when trying to cross the road.
