Galway TD added to European contest ticket

GALWAY East Fianna Fail TD Anne Rabbitte has been added to the ticket to contest the European Elections in the Midlands-North West constituency.

Deputy Rabbitte failed in her bid to be selected at the party's convention held last week.

Fianna Fáil members chose sitting TD Brendan Smith but it had been speculated that a female candidate would be added at a later stage.

The Fianna Fáil National Constituencies Committee has met and confirmed the addition of candidates in the upcoming European Elections.

Billy Kelleher TD has been added to the ticket in Ireland South and Anne Rabbitte TD has been added in Midlands-North-West.
