MONIVEA’S own Special Olympic hero secured gold in the tenpin bowling doubles event held in Abu Dhabi earlier this week.
Aine McDermott (24), alongside her teammate Gemma Steele (25) from Coleraine, Co. Derry, scooped top honours in competition on day four.
She will now also be gunning for gold in the individual bowling before the games come to a close on March 21, ending a two weeks of competition that will see Team Ireland competing in 12 Olympic-style sports with athletes from 24 counties across Ireland taking part.
