Red card for post-match celebrations

YOUTHS hanging out of car windows and sitting on top of vehicles celebrating sporting wins is “a tragedy waiting to happen”.
That is the view of Cllr Peter Roche, Chair of the County Galway Joint Policing Committee (JPC), which met on Monday this week.
The tradition of match convoys and their safety has come into focus after members of the public contacted Gardaí following a recent local club game, when they spotted a number of teenagers sitting unsupported on the roof of a car travelling in the region of 50km per hour.
