Action plan for future of old fire station in Tuam

AN ACTION plan for the future of the old Fire Station in Tuam, which might include an enterprise hub and some residential units for the elderly, is being prepared by Galway County Council.

Councillor Donagh Killilea, who mooted the idea of exploring what could be done with the soon to be vacant fire station on High Street, said that there was a lot of confusion in the town about it.
The brand new state of the art €1.5 million purpose built fire station on the Milltown Road is due to be opened within weeks.
