Resurfacing will start soon.

Traffic chaos looms for Tuam

TUAM is facing into weeks of traffic chaos with the start of long awaited road resurfacing works through the town.
The resurfacing contract has been awarded and surveying works are due to commence next Tuesday as the ten-week project gets underway.
The old N17 from the Weir Road junction as far as the new roundabout on the Milltown Road linking to the Tuam bypass will be resurfaced under the scheme, which will include excavation of the road, re-instatement and road reconstruction, utility services, lining, accommodation works and traffic management.
The work was put off for a few weeks to allow services to be installed by Irish Water and Virgin Media.
