Beat of the drum is definitely music to their ears

 DRUMMING might not be music to everyone’s ears, but the beats are pretty infectious. And once young drummers pick up their first set of sticks it’s hard for them to stop; even when they’re not playing, they’re subconsciously making noise.
Drummers are entitled to feel a bit cheated when it comes to how they’re viewed on the musician scale. Most people don’t see drums as a ‘real’ instrument and the idea of learning to play the drums and taking proper lessons like any other musical instrument is somewhat alien to many. And yes, you can take drumming exams and work your way through grades just like piano and other classical instruments.
But for the 80-plus young drummers who are now part of the Drumadore group, it’s mostly about the pure enjoyment that drumming brings to their lives. Their tutor, Eimhin Craddock, caught the drumming bug decades ago and now he’s trying to share his love of drums, rhythm and beats with others.
