THE singer dubbed as the Ed Sheerin of Country is coming from playing live for a TV special and DVD in the wild North of Scotland to the Wild West Country Fest in Kilconly this weekend.

As sections of his two sold-out shows at the Eden Court Theatre, Inverness are being shown on several international TV channels Derek prepares to play a similar show at Kilconly’s Wild West Country Fest on Sunday night.

“Filming the show in Inverness internationalises his appeal and he has two tours of France as well as one of Denmark lined up for later this year,” says his manager Brian Jordan, who is justifiably proud of the Carlow singer-songwriter’s success.

“He also wrote the current song for Jimmy Buckley, The Weekend, and as well as writing songs for others Derek is being dubbed the Ed Sheerin of Country,” added Brian.
