Mentoring initiative helping women return to workplace
HR SPECIALISTS Collins McNicholas have partnered with charity WorkEqual for a new mentoring initiative aimed at helping women and people with disabilities.
With offices in Galway, Sligo, Dublin, Cork and Athlone, Collins McNicholas specialise in recruitment and HR services to professionals in a range of sectors nationwide.
This unique partnership will see the company’s staff team volunteer to mentor WorkEqual’s clients while they are searching for work or transitioning back into the workplace after some time away.
WorkEqual clients are women who have been out of the workforce for a long period of time after personal challenge, migration, caring for loved ones or redundancy.
Men and women identifying with disability can also participate in WorkEqual's 10-week WorkAbility programme.
Mock Interviews
Collins McNicholas’ experts will conduct mock interviews, giving people the opportunity to practice their interviewing skills in front of a real-life panel.
They have already begun conducting several virtual workshops held throughout May and June, before hosting in-person sessions.
These gatherings will allow participants to network and meet with employers and benefit from in-person discussions and expert guidance before they take part in mock interviews.
“We are delighted to team up with WorkEqual, an important organisation helping people starting out or re-entering the workplace after some time away,” stated Corofin’s Michelle Murphy, Director of Collins McNicholas.
“This can be a challenging time for people, and our team are excited to begin this programme, where we get the chance to work with new people and help them in any way we can by dedicating our time to work with them.”
