Headford musicians go French for fundraiser

A NUMBER of musicians from Headford will perform as part of a fundraising night of French music, wine and finger food in aid of Engineering for Humanity, a joint initiative of Alan Kerins Projects and NUI Galway. The event takes place tomorrow, Thursday, May 17, in Galway at 8 pm. A French-themed night of music ranging from Bizet to Jacques Brel, complemented with French wine and cheese, will undoubtedly impress an audience at the United Methodist & Presbyterian Church at Victoria Place, Galway, right beside the Victoria Hotel. The night will feature well-known musicians from Galway and Headford, such as Sandra Schalks, Matthew Berrill, Elena Gekker and many more, and promises to be a delectable evening's entertainment. The fundraiser is being held for Engineering for Humanity, which sends engineering students to Western Zambia to work voluntarily with Alan Kerins Projects on community projects such as providing sustainable building materials and methods and the provision of a reliable water supply. There will be information available on all work carried out by the charity on the night. Tickets can be bought on the door for €10.
