Galway dancers urged to apply for new TV show
DANCERS from around Galway are being urged to get involved in a new TV show that is searching for the country's top dancers. Whether you're tops at hip-hop, ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary dance, musical theatre, breakdance, Latin or Irish dancing, RTÉ wants to hear from you. Mind The Gap Films is looking for the top 20 dancers in the country, aged between 13 and 16 years old, in each of nine dance styles, to take part in a new TV series - â€ËœPump Up My Dance'. Ireland's best dancers will be invited to take part in a dance masterclass with an internationally renowned choreographer. Just as in a professional audition, dancers will be challenged to learn new steps on the fly, to prove they deserve their place in the final performance. Only five dancers will be chosen to perform at a gala showcase in Dublin's Smock Alley Theatre in front of a live audience. To take part in the show, visit the Pump Up My Dance website www.rte.ie/trte/pump. Entries must be submitted by July 18.
