Call to publish Tuam traffic plan

A CALL has again been made for the Co Council to publish the Traffic Management Plan for Tuam. The call is being made by local Tuam Area Cllr Sean Canney. [private] 'At present there is a new road linking Shop Street and Bishop Street being constructed and there is no plan as to how traffic will enter and exit this road. There are legitimate fears that businesses will be affected when changes have to be made,' he said in a statement on the issue. 'It is worrying that the new road is being constructed without any Traffic Management Plan in place. It seems no-one knows how it will work and I am concerned that proposals will be forced upon people without proper consultation,' added Cllr Canney 'The Traffic Management Plan is the single biggest issue which will affect every person and it should be published so that the public consultation process begins now.' [/private]
