UP to 400 delegates are expected to attend a two-day business networking forum in Galway in November. The aim of the event, entitled MeetWest, is to promote business in the West of Ireland. [private] Delegates will converge on the Galway Bay Hotel on November 21 and 22. The initiative is being supported by successful Tuam businessman John Concannon of JFC manufacturing. He says similar events held elsewhere in the country have proven successful in generating new business for his company. 'I am delighted that this event is being staged in this region. I would strongly advise any other company operating from Galway, Mayo and Roscommon to register to be involved as soon as possible. It's too good a business opportunity to miss,' he remarked. MeetWest is expected to attract representatives from across all business sectors including the agri-food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical and health, construction, engineering, craft and textiles, IT, energy supply, alternative energies, manufacturing, printing and design, research and education, tourism, hospitality and transport. The event is aimed at giving companies in the West an opportunity to generate new business for themselves. The two-day event will begin with a half day conference entitled â€ËœBusiness in the West: Local to Global' with speakers such as Minister for Small Business John Perry and Jerry Kennelly, MD Tweak.com. It will also hear from Gerry Kilcommins, General Manager Galway, Medtronic, Helen Ryan, CEO Creganna Medical Devices, John Concannon, JFC Manufacturing and Mary Gleeson, Gleeson's Townhouse & Restaurant, Roscommon.
