Fitzgibbon Cup this weekend

JOE Canning will be the missing star when the Third Level Colleges hurling semi-finals and final of the Fitzgibbon Cup take place this weekend, hosted by U.C.C. In sparkling form for Limerick I.T. on their powerful run to the closing stages, Canning was injured in last week's quarter-final victory over G.M.I.T. at Moylish, Limerick: 1-20 to 0-8. The last four left in the competition are Limerick I.T, University of Limerick, U.C.C. and Cork I.T. Semi-finals on Friday at The Mardyke, C.I.T. vs L.I.T. at 1.30 and U.C.C. vs U.L. at 3.00.
