Final safety audit at Knockdoe

MEMBERS of Galway Co Council were informed on Monday that a final safety audit is to be carried out on the traffic calming measures at Knockdoe, scene of a fatal accident last weekend. The National Roads Authority (NRA) designed the traffic calming measures, which were put in place there some months ago, and concerns have been raised about various aspects of them.[private] In answer to questions at Mondayâ€â„¢s meeting, Director of Services Frank Gilmore said issues of concern regarding the lining and the location of bus stops as well as a number of other minor aspects will be examined in this final inspection, which is routine.
