A GIANT property auction organised by three local auctioneers was a big success at the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon on Saturday, was a great success. It was organised and conducted Gerry Coffey, Williamstown, Nigel Dineen, Roscommon Town, and Ivan Connaughton, Athleague. Among the sales was a derelict two-storey farmhouse at Ballymoney, Dunmore. After an opening offer of €15,000, two bidders brought it €24,000 where it was purchased by a Roscommon-based solicitor acting in trust for a UK client. A striking four-bedroom property in Dunmore which is not quite completed had a reserve price of €80,000. Gerry Coffey received a call from a person originally from Ireland but living in Qatar in the Middle East for over 25 years who said he was interested in the property.[private] He arrived in Dunmore with his wife on Friday evening and viewed the property.
