Strait Country from George is Great

TO say that George Strait Country is straight Country is almost an understatement and the tall Texan stays true to his Traditional roots on his new album Love is Everything. What it says on the tin is what you get inside. Love Is Everything is his eagerly anticipated 40th studio album and if you are a Strait Country fan then this one will not disappoint. Long before Garth Brooks expanded the appeal of Country to a Pop audience, George was the Stetson-wearing iconic figure of Country but one without the Pop nuances. When he recorded Murder on Music Row with Alan Jackson a few years ago, they were firing a broadside across the bows of the new Country stars who had sold out to the Rock fraternity in the eyes and ears of many and there is definitely no selling out to Pop influences on this Strait album either. For many fans he is the king of Country music and George has re-joined veteran producer Tony Brown to co-produce the album, which features 13 new tracks, including the current single Give It All We Got Tonight, which is a big hit for him in the US Country charts at present. Love Is Everything includes four songs written or co-written by George, who penned many alongside his son Bubba Strait and legendary songwriter Dean Dillon. With album sales now edging towards the 67 million-mark George Strait is now in the same strait, as The Beatles and Elvis. He is in third place on the all-time platinum and multi-platinum certification list and his status is set to rise further with his new album. The tall Texan has come a long way since the release of his debut album Strait Country back in 1982. His songs on this set go from slow Country ballads to Cajun or Western Swing as well as some line dancing boot scootinâ€â„¢-style songs. George has accumulated a long list of awards over the years and he has been voted Country Male Vocalist on many occasions by the CMA. Even though he was a superstar in the States before Garth Brooks, and he has remained a steady seller of CDs long after GB was at the pinnacle of his career, Strait has never had the same impact this side of the Atlantic. Perhaps one reason for this may be that he never bothered to tour over here except for one high-profile visit to London, during which he arrived at the venue where he was playing mounted on a white horse. But even without public appearances on this side of the pond, George still has been a steady seller of CDs and his new one is destined to continue that trend. While the tall Texan is around Traditional Country sounds will always remain relevant and popular with fans of all ages. â€â€ TG.
