Belclare and Menlough scenes of two fatal accidents
EUGENE Hoade, the man who lost his life in a single vehicle accident in Belclare on Friday night, February 17, was buried in Donaghpatrick Cemetery, Headford yesterday (Tuesday) following requiem mass at Saint Joseph's Church, Shrule. Mr Hoade (40) lived at Cullagh, Headford, Co Mayo. Well known businessman Gary McTigue was seriously injured in the accident and is undergoing hospital treatment. [private] The accident occurred at approximately 11.30 pm when the black BMW Mr Hoade was driving collided with a tree. He was killed instantly. Gardai have carried out a technical examination of the scene and are appealing for witnesses to the tragic accident or anyone who can assist with their inquiries to contact Tuam Garda Station on 093-70840. Menlough crash A 38-year-old woman died in Menlough on Thursday afternoon at approximately 4.30pm when the car she was driving hit a wall between Colemanstown and Gurteen. The woman is understood to have been living in the area and was a non-national.
