Festive food and wine fundraiser at McCambridge's
THE HUGELY popular annual Food and Wine Fair organised by McCambridge's of Galway for charity will take place tomorrow (Thursday) evening. The event takes place from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Ardilaun House Hotel. Around 1,000 tickets have just been issued, and a new fundraising target of €15,000 has been set. This night of fun, food and wine aims to raise much needed funds for Grá, the Galway support group for families of children with autism, as well as the five designated Galway schools â€â€ Dominican Convent, Taylor's Hill, St Mary's College, Educate Together Galway, Gaelscoil Dara and Coláiste Iognáid. Proceeds of all tickets sold at the shop and on the door on the night, will go directly to local support charity Grá. McCambridge's have been organising this festive event for the last six years and it's now a highlight of the pre-Christmas calendar. This year whiskey expert Seamus Lowry will lead a whiskey-tasting master-class at 6.30 pm, providing a great opportunity to learn more about this age-old spirit. The best of Irish and international cheeses, chutneys, chocolates, cakes, puddings and preserves will also be available to sample, as well as world leading wines, coffees, beers and speciality spices. 'Our gourmet food producers, who we are very proud to support, are delighted with the opportunity to meet their customers at our annual fundraiser. The fair also allows Galwegians an opportunity to â€Ëœmeet the makers' from wine specialists to chocolatiers from around the country,' said Managing Director of McCambridges, Eoin McCambridge. â€Ëœ More information on the Food and Wine Fair, and tickets (€15) are available by contacting Natalie on 091-562259. Tickets are also available from McCambridge's of Shop Street, Galway, as well as Grá and the schools involved.
