An extended family affair at Headford school
IT'S an extended family affair at one Headford school this year where nine first cousins are on the roll book. [private] Kilroe National School welcomed the ninth member of the Creavin, Flanagan and O'Sullivan clans earlier this month, all of whom are related through their mothers, Patricia, Nellie and Caitriona (nee Hogan), from Rostaff, near Headford. Max Flanagan started junior infants and joined elder sisters Sophie and Milly who are in third and first class respectively. Their older cousins Thomas, Adam and Paul Creavin are in sixth, fifth and second class while triplets Laura, Brian and Stephen O'Sullivan are in sixth class. School principal Tommy Carey said it was the largest family grouping he had witnessed in his ten years at the school. 'We're a small rural school with 73 pupils and a teaching staff of three so this is definitely something you don't come across very often.' [/private]
