Youth pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick

THE Third Annual Tuam Diocesan Youth Pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick was held recently and several hundred young people attended, mainly from various secondary schools around the Archdiocese of Tuam. â€â€š[private] The teenagers gathered at 11.00 am when Fr Tod Nolan and Fr Pat Farragher led the group in prayer at Murrisk Car Park. Despite the windy conditions and heavy showers the many pilgrims made it to the top for Mass at the summit at 1 pm, celebrated by Fr Fintan Monahan. â€â€šFr John Kenny led the singing and a most joyful and spirited Easter liturgy of thanksgiving was celebrated. â€â€šA barbeque was a welcome sight for the many tired and hungry, but happy students, when they descended the mountain. Pilgrims were greeted and congratulated by Archbishop Michael Neary at the famine memorial monument in Murrisk as they crossed the finish line!
