Connacht Tag Series returns to Tuam RFC
THIS year the Tag Series in Tuam is getting even bigger and better and hopes to improve on the 10 teams consisting of 150 players which participated last summer. Referred to by many as 'the social event of the summer’, it consists of weekly games followed by post-match refreshments in Tuam’s host pubs.
The Connacht Tag Series is a brilliant way to socialise with friends and colleagues, as well as meet new people, all while getting some exercise in a fun and safe environment. Hundreds of players take part across multiple teams in various locations, with weekly games scheduled across Connacht. Tag Rugby is a fun and fast-moving non-contact variation of the game, suitable for all ability and experience levels. Teams are made up of seven players (four males, three females) with squads of up to 15 players.
It begins on Friday, May 23 and runs for six weeks in Tuam’s home of rugby - Garraun Park (H54PT62) on the Dublin Road, Tuam. Both teams and individuals can register on www.connachtrugby.ie/rugby-in-connacht/register
There will be an open ‘give it a try’ session on Monday, May 19 at 7pm in Garraun Park. This is an opportunity for individuals to come along and experience a practice tag rugby session where the rules will be taught.
Following the session they can register for this year’s series where they will be assigned to a team. We encourage all to come along and give it a try.
