Contractor is appointed for new Claregalway community college

THE building contractor has been appointed for work on the interim accommodation for Claregalwayâ€â„¢s new secondary school Coláiste Bhaile Chláir and Galway firm JSL (Stewarts) have been given the contract. CEO with Co Galway VEC Joe McDonagh said they also signed the lease for the property at Claregalway Corporate Park last Friday and he envisaged that work will be completed by the end of August.[private] He added that 164 have enrolled for the new school and the next Board of Management meeting will be held tomorrow (Thursday). When Cllr Jarlath McDonagh asked if rumours were correct that over 100 people applied for the job of caretaker at the new school Chairman Pat Gilmore replied that as the recruitment process was ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment on the number of applicants. However he added that there was a lot of interest in this job and in teaching posts at the new school.[/private]
