Galway Hospice seeks support at Tuam meeting this week

GALWAY Hospice will bring its publicity and fundraising drive for future expansion to Tuam this week. The hospice is appealing to families who have availed of or have been affected by its services over the years to support the hospice at this crucial time. It will hold a community meeting tonight (Wednesday) in the Ard Rí House Hotel in Tuam between 8 and 9 pm. Representatives from the hospice will speak about the current services provided and will outline plans for the future â€â€ both short-and long-term. A local person will speak about their experience of hospice care and the vital support they received from Galway [private]Hospice in their time of need. A short DVD about the hospice will also be shown. There will be opportunity for questions at the end of the meeting. Due to increasing demand the hospice services are operating beyond capacity. More in-patient, home care and day care services are urgently needed, but this will require significant funding. [/private]
