A YOUNG Tuam man, who is currently in prison for assault, has been jailed for another two months for seriously threatening a young man in Tuam last year. Colin Mongan, Killaloonty, Tuam was one of two youths involved in harassing a young man in the Square on August 18 last year.[private] Inspector Michael O'Dwyer said the injured party was called a name as he passed by. When the victim confronted the youths, Mongan said 'I'm going to kick the f**kin' crap out of you'. The other youth assaulted the victim. Defending solicitor Gail Heverin said her client was taking part in a computer course while in custody at Castlerea Prison and was doing well. Judge Browne remarked that Mongan seemed to like prison, before sentencing him to two months for the public order offence and imposing a fine of €350. [/private]
