Tuam gymnasts compete for Ireland

MEMBERS of the Tuam All Star Gymnastics club represented Ireland at the Celtic Cup 2012 in Belfast over the weekend. The Irish team took second place overall, with the Welsh team narrowly finishing as winners by one point. Tuam All Stars' Derek Winterlich and Genevieve Callander were awarded an individual bronze medal in grade three, while Gemma Wuijiw, Kelly McCormack and Siobhán Callander achieved the gold medal in the 11 â€â€œ 16 age category. Fourth place was awarded to the club's senior FIG grade gymnasts Fionnuala Dooley, Joy Watson and Jacinta Mannion, who missed out on a bronze medal by just 0.1 of a mark.
