Walk off the turkey and help your heart

CROàare again encouraging people to get active after the Christmas festivities by participating in the annual Annaghdown St Stephen's Day sponsored walk on Monday, December 26. The family, fun event grows stronger every year with up to 500 local families and friends taking part in aid of the fight against heart disease and stroke. 'This walk is now in its 18th year and it continues to grow in popularity. It is the perfect opportunity after a lazy Christmas to get up, get out, get fresh air and exercise â€â€ perhaps even kick off your exercise and fitness regime for the New Year,' says Croí's Neil Johnson. The walk starts at 12 pm from the Annaghdown Community Centre, offering the choice of a six-mile or a ten-mile walk through the scenic countryside of Annaghdown.
