The Michael Commins Music Shows are back in Salthill
IT'S back to the Salthill Hotel in Galway for the Michael Commins Music Shows. The shows will be staged on November 7 and 8 at 8 pm. Two of the great legends of Irish Country Music, Big Tom and Brian Coll, are the headline acts on Monday and Tuesday respectively. Big Tom received an ecstatic welcome last November. He was greeted with a standing ovation as he came on stage and received three more before the end of the night. Brian Coll is celebrating 50 years in showbiz and the man from Tyrone is revered in the Irish country music world. The event gets underway with a dance on Sunday night, November 6 with Gary Gamble and his band, John Glenn, Kevin Prendergast, Eddie Lee, Carmel McLoughlin and Noreen Burke. There is a fabulous line-up for the Monday night show that includes Big Tom McBride, Foster and Allen, Crystal Swing, Matt Keane, John Glenn, Gene Stuart, Sam O'Doherty, PJ Murrihy, Nan Tom, Matt Cunningham, Jacqui Sharkey, Bernadette Ruddy, Jason Travers, John Kelly, Gerry Walsh and Donncha O'Dulaing (RTÉ). The Tuesday night show features Brian Coll, Gene Stuart, Mick Flavin, Hugo Duncan, Sean Wilson and Tony Mac, Annmarie O'Riordan, Matt Keane, Derek Ryan, Lisa Stanley, Bachelors in Trouble, Tony Kerr, Deirdre Bonner, Orlaith Keane, Eddie Lee and Huby Harton. On the Monday and Tuesday afternoon there will be open sessions in the hotel lounge, compered by Mick Mackey (Clonmel), with many entertainers getting in on the mood of the get-together.
