Only one drunk driving arrest

THE message that it is no longer acceptable to drink and drive seems to be getting home to motorists, in the Tuam area anyway, as Gardai made only one arrest for driving while under the influence of drink during the Easter weekend.[private] Sergeant Martin Connor said the Gardai mounted additional road checks during the Bank Holiday holiday weekend. He added that while crowds were big in Tuam on Easter Saturday and Sunday nights there were very few incidents and he says that in general people were very well behaved.[/private]
