Big entry for Corrib cycle

DETAILS have just been announced of the annual 'Tour de Lough Corrib' Charity Cycle in aid of local heart charity Croí which takes place on Sunday, May 22. Entries are way ahead of this time last year, said Croí's Neil Johnson who encourages everyone to 'dust down your bikes and oil your chains for the biggest charity cycle in the West of Ireland which offers a 26-mile or 75-mile cycle through some of the most scenic areas in Connemara, circling Lough Corrib.' Last year, just under 600 cyclists completed the tour which has been sponsored by local company, Corrib Oil since the event first took place in 1995. The cycle will leave Galway at 8.30 am on May 22nd, taking a route via Moycullen, Oughterard, Maam Cross, Maam Valley, Cornamona, Cong, Headford and finishing back in the City. Participants must pre-enter to secure their place and sponsorship card and then register on the morning of the event. The route is fully supported.
