Early deficit is too much for Sylane in wind-blown clash

MEELICK-Eyrecourt’s nine-point, wind assisted half-time buffer proved just about sufficient as they held on to record their second group win of the campaign over a game Sylane outfit in an enjoyable Intermediate Hurling Championship clash at Clarinbridge on Sunday afternoon.

This turned out to be the proverbial ‘game of two halves’ such was the effect the sharp wind, blowing from the town end, had on proceedings, with both sides doing their best to limit the damage when playing against the breeze and looking to capitalise on whatever few chances they could muster.
Meelick-Eyrecourt had the advantage of the wind in the first half and looked to utilise it as best they could.
