Galway mourns Tony Keady

TRIBUTES quickly poured in for Tony Keady in their droves from all corners of the globe following the news of his terribly sad passing last Thursday morning, August 9, at the age of just 53.

The former Galway hurling great leaves behind a huge void in the lives of his most loves ones, his wife Margaret, and four children Shannon, Anthony, and twins Harry and Jake. They are in the thoughts of all GAA people in the county at this present time.
Keady had been to Galway's All-Ireland semi-final victory over Tipperary last Sunday week. Perhaps it was somewhat fitting that his Oranmore-Maree clubmate Gearóid McInerney was RTÉ Man of the Match from centre-back that day, a position Tony Keady made his own during the latter half of the 1980s.
