MONIVEA are one step away from Connacht Junior Cup glory after a terrific comeback victory over Connemara in Sunday’s semi-final at the Castlegrounds.
Forwards were the prominent players in an action-packed contest played in Baltic conditions and Monivea crashed over for two tries during the last quarter, including the match-winner from Vinny Lally three minutes from time, as they set up a final date with Ballinasloe. 
With a strong wind blowing across the pitch it was Connemara who enjoyed whatever advantage was going as they led by 8-3 at the break.
