TUAM managed to make it all the way to the semi-finals of the Connacht Junior Cup in 2016, but they will now have to focus on the Plate side of the draw and their promotion push in the J1B League following an agonising two-point defeat to Loughrea.
Tuam had beaten their preliminary round opponents by 79 points across two league matches last October and November.
It was obvious from the first whistle on Sunday that Loughrea were not about to succumb to a third trouncing at the hands of their Galway rivals in as many months though.
