THE two Division 1 League finals Cork and Galway played out in the space of seven days were a fantastic advertisement for ladies football. In the end, all there was to separate the sides was a Rena Buckley point in the first minute of stoppage time last Saturday evening.
Buckley’s winner sealed a third Division 1 League title success on the trot for Cork, who now turn their attentions to winning a tenth All-Ireland since 2005. Defeat was harsh on the Tribeswomen, but Cork know who their main challengers this summer will be.
