Claire molloy did galway and ireland proud at rugby world cup in paris

GALWAY was proudly represented in the Ireland women’s rugby team who shocked mighty New Zealand in the World Cup in France, before their dream of winning the most glittering prize in the sport ended in a merciless 40 points to 7 defeat by England.
In France last Sunday, Ireland were gallant in defeat for third-place status, which went to the host country, 25-18.
Claire Molloy (aged 26), from Galway city, has been an outstanding player in the Ireland back row since she switched from playing Ladies Gaelic football.
As a teenager, Claire played girls’ football for the St Michael’s club and quickly moved up through the grades.
She was one of the youngest players on the field when she lined out for the county senior team in the 2005 All-Ireland final at Croke Park. In that game, Cork defeated the defending champions Galway.
