Galway footballers scored and gave away four goals in topsy-turvy performance

VICTORY was the No. 1 target for this Galway team in the All-Ireland S.F.C. Round 4 qualifier at O’Connor Park, Tullamore last Saturday evening and it was achieved with a seemingly comfortable but ultimately unconvincing five points to spare.
After the game, Galway manager Alan Mulholland said in one media interview that, ahead of playing Tipperary, he’d have taken a one-point winning margin but by Saturday night he was mightily relieved that his team hadn’t squandered a whopping 14-point lead in the final twenty minutes.
It’s almost enough to say, in summing it all up, that Galway first scored four goals and Tipperary then scored four goals!
Tipperary manager Peter Creedon was quoted on Monday morning as saying: “If we had another ten minutes, we’d have won it.”
