All-Ireland Ladies Football glory for Glenamaddy C.S.
LADIES FOOTBALL is going from strength to strength at Glenamaddy Community School, with last Saturday’s All-Ireland Schools’ Senior B Championship final victory a follow-up to last year’s All-Ireland Junior A title.
County senior players Nicola and Louise Ward were among the stars for the winning team last weekend, along with last year’s All-Ireland winning Galway minor captain, Megan Heneghan.
Glenamaddy C.S. defeated Scoil Chriost Rí, Portlaoise by 4-22 to 2-8.
Ace goal poacher Mary Fahy stole the show!
Mary hit a whopping four goals for the winners, and added three points (two from play) for a sensational personal tally of 4-3, and the Player of the Match award.
The Glenamaddy school will compete in the A Championship next year.
