GAA’s ill-fated Athenry development lands edge closer to ‘sold’ sign

A DEAL on the sale of the 100 acres owned by Galway GAA that were once earmarked for an €8 million centre of excellence for hurling is likely to be completed within weeks.

The property was put up for public auction at the Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry three weeks ago with a reserve of €750,000 but was withdrawn.
