Zoning sets Claregalway up for extra 300 homes

CLAREGALWAY village is on the verge of a major expansion, following the decision by Galway County Council to approve zoning of up to nine hectares of land for residential development.

The decision passed by the council at this week’s meeting in County Hall means the land will be available for the provision of up to 270 houses next year.
The matter was raised during discussions on the proposed variations to the County Development Plan 2015-2021, where Claregalway is included under the Gaeltacht Plan.
