Attempted robbery of Athenry man

AN attempt was made to rob an elderly man in the Gort na Ri estate in Athenry on Wednesday night Feb 7.

The man was walking home and was approached by young male who demanded his wallet. The suspect who is described as having a local accent had his face covered by a scarf.
The Gardai are asking any witnesses to this or anyone with information to contact Athenry Gardai 091 844016. Garda Alan Maher is investigating.
